Blue Nexus #40 - A Strange Case of Quiet

The locker door slammed shut, jarring him. He could still hear almost all of the footsteps tapping against the tile floor of the second level. The sophomore boys who screamed and shouted at each other were so clear he could swear they stood next to him. The hallway was tight and hot around him. Someone approached him head on when he leaned against the locker, rubbing his temple.

            “Hey, Kyle, you doing okay?” Mira asked, reaching out for him.

X-O Manowar #15 Review

When Valiant Entertainment relaunched their comics line back in 2012, their flagship title was decided to be X-O Manowar, spear-heading the universe basically from space. As simply as possible: X-O Manowar is a Visigoth warrior prince from the 402 A.D. who had his people subjugated to torture by an alien race by the Vine, so he stole their powerful armor, blew them up, met a British ninja, went back to space, and on his way back.

Comics are awesome.

Divine Gate Review

This season of anime has had some pretty pleasant surprises. Dagashi Kashi and Erased both kind of came out of nowhere as the better of the season, while other series making their return like Assassination Classroom are just as good as before. I was hoping that the same case would occur for the anime we have today. Divine Gate is an anime based off a 2013 Japanese smartphone game of the same name, running at only twelve episodes over on Funimation, with both an English Dub and Japanese Sub (broadcast dubs yeah!).

Road to the Justice League: DC's Cinematic Universe

*SPOILERS FOR BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE*

Originally I was going to post this as a mean to assess how the DC Cinematic Universe stands with the addition of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, but since I'm an idiot, I completely forgot about the second installment, Suicide Squad, we're getting later this year in August. So, since Suicide Squad will likely not involve anything involving the upcoming Justice League: Part One, I feel it's safe to assess things based on this film.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice Review

I'm not exactly sure how to begin this review. This film takes a while to mull over, and I don't think that a second viewing of it would help me out in that regard, anyway. No spoilers here, I won't be that mean if you do want to see the movie. And, yes, believe it or not there are spoilers even after that second trailer that showed us Doomsday. And if you haven't seen that trailer?

Previously on "Blue Nexus" (#14-#39)...

It's been well over a year since I was able to recap the series. I probably could have done so after our long summer break between parts 22 and 23, but that would be no fun. And, yes, there was a major tone shift and change in direction, but even stretching way back to Part 14 where Sandy revealed she knew who Kyle was and that the Zanderia did have a prison for super villains there were small seeds being planted that would lead up to the big battle against Alucard. 

Superman #75 Review

Previously: Doomsday, a teenager kept in timeout for too long, attempted to become Snow White and sing to various animals....but crushed them instead. After destroying a truck, the Justice League (clearly with nothing better to do) attacked him while Superman did a day-time interview. Supes and Doomsday started fighting in a suburban front lawn, but Doomsday would soon decide that he wanted to become a WWE superstar. Knowing that this teenage rebellion has gone on long enough, Superman confronts Doomsday one final time in Metropolis, singing Toto's "Hold the Line" as he does so.
