I mean, seriously people! I know we've covered the bases with the most famous characters Marvel Studios owns, but, that doesn't mean we have to keep banking on them. The Iron Man toys will sell and have sold since Iron Man was created. Captain America isn't becoming any less cool with the hype for the third movie, and Thor's hammer Mjonlinr isn't spinning any slower. I don't really think we need to plaster these heroes all over the place. What about the little guys?
The guys who aren't necessarily the clean-up crew, but the guys whose backstories make you scratch your head with intrigue. The ones who we are still uncertain about, the ones from outer space who can stand up to interstellar behemoths, the ones who kill zombies! Those are some cool characters right there.
Granted, some of these characters have gotten movies before. Sub-par movies, but, not that Marvel has established itself, it shouldn't be afraid to take a few more leaps of faith. Dedicated fans will jump with them. For Pete's sake, they have movies planned ("planned") for the next fourteen years! Some of these may be remakes and some of these may be parts of like Phase 7 Avengers, at which point it will be just silly because it'll be like their third bout with Ultron or something. So for now, all we can do is cross our fingers and hope that these obscure titles will get their big screen fame.
I would put up Daredevil, because, you know, he's pretty cool, but considering how he's going to be part of the Defenders with Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, having him in his own movie again seems a bit redundant. And I would have Nick Fury, but, considering the catastrophic events for S.H.I.E.L.D., a Nick Fury story would be a little "meh." A backstory would be cool, like maybe one that involves a certain Howard Stark and Dum Dum Dugan, but besides that, it'd be a little off. And Samuel L. Jackson is running out of Marvel movies to do. So that's a thing.
But let's not waste anymore time. These movies are in particular order of how badly I want them to come out, by the way.
Blade
Blade had like three movies come out and none of them really felt like comic book movies. Sure, he's a vampire slayer, and sure, he's got a bit of a dark side, but he is a super-hero nonetheless. Delving into the world of the supernatural is something that the MCU has not strayed away from, definitely, and adding in the supernatural spawned on Earth wouldn't be too terrible a thing to do.
Ghost Rider
Even less of a comic book movie, Ghost Rider's main foe, Mephisto, has large implications on the Marvel Universe constantly. He even manages to mess with the son of soon-to-be-Avengers Scarlet Witch and the Vision. See how that could work out? While Ghost Rider isn't necessarily a team player, he certainly has a great power stored inside of him. Not to mention that his power could relate to the workings of Stephen Strange, who is probably to get a movie as well (since he's been hinted at so many times, I won't include Dr. Strange on the list). Seeing Ghost Rider maybe even team up with Dr. Strange and some Avengers against Mephisto in his dimension would actually be pretty sweet to see.
Black Widow/ Hawkeye
For the most part, I'm talking about Black Widow here, but considering Hawkeye's potential, as well as their little romance, he could be included in the Black Widow film as well, much like how Black Widow was in Cap 2. A Black Widow film is a much anticipated film that fans would be dying to see. Considering also the clean-slate created at the end of Cap 2, it would be interesting to see how Natasha fits herself into the world. This film would, obviously, take place post Age of Ultron, so we would get to see her for the first time on her own without the Avengers and with a drastically changed world (Ultron does that to you, people). Not to mention the constant talk that Hawkeye is to play a pivotal role in Avengers 2, you could see him going through the motions following such a big role. Unless he dies, which is what I think is going to happen. Regardless, watching two prominent spies working together to fight, well, probably like HYDRA or AIM (please...please introduce AIM) would be something worth checking out.
Hulk/ Planet Hulk
The Hulk became a fan-favorite Avenger following the 2012 film and ever since fans have been asking for a solo Hulk film, where Hulk obviously plays the good guy. We know that Bruce Banner has control over the big green guy, and Mark Ruffalo is a good actor. Put 2 and 2 together, and bada bing, you've got yourself a good Hulk movie. Why Planet Hulk? Because if you want a really good solo film storyline, you're going to want to pull from one of Hulk's most famous storylines (see Captain America: The Winter Soldier on how to make such a big storyline such a good movie).
Adam Warlock
Adam who? Ah, there we go. Delving into the realm of characters that the uninitiated are unaware of. But we are initiated, aren't we nerds? Members of the League of Legends! Nah just kidding I don't play League of Legends...yet...Regardless, I feel that an Adam Warlock film is actually one of the most vital films that Marvel can make and needs to make if they are going to have the whole Thanos thing work out. Adam Warlock and Thanos are usually mentioned in the same breathe when talking about the showdowns with Thanos. Not only that, but Adam Warlock was once a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, a film coming to you this late summer. Perhaps we may not get an Adam Warlock film on his own, maybe he'll be hatched from his egg in Guardians of the Galaxy and join the team. But if you want a sick Magus twist, you'll make an Adam Warlock movie, Marvel Studios.
Captain Mar-Vell/ Marvel
I've seen it spelled both ways, so now you can't hate me for it.
A Captain Mar-Vell film, similar to the Adam Warlock situation, is very necessary for the whole Thanos plot. Okay, maybe not as necessary, but still, he was figured very prominently in the first round with Thanos. Heck, he and Adam Warlock combined had a much bigger role in the whole thing than the famous Avengers did! Will that happen now? Marketting says no, but, my heart wants it so. Besides, we know that Captain Mar-Vell can exist, since the Kree were quickly name dropped on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. a few episodes ago (to which I instantly thought of this guy). Besides, this is Marvel's in to beating DC to a little kid turned superhero live action film...because, you know, SHAZAM!
Ms. Marvel
People often complain there is a lack of female superheroes in the MCU (yet they seem to have no problem with only one in the DC universe...weird how that works), so, in an attempt to appease our female viewers, a Ms. Marvel film should work out. A prominent Avenger and lady who can kick and punch the crap out of anything, a Ms. Marvel film would do wonders to attract new attention to the MCU as well as serve as a good way to maybe replace Captain Mar-Vell should his well run a little dry. I mean, she's stronger than Captain America and would do well in a fight against most any space-villain. What's not to like? Her and Black Widow would have great banter!
Black Panther
Dude, I mean, what are you waiting for, Marvel? He is one of the most famous of all the Avengers and you still have yet to mention him outside of showing a map with Wakanda on it. You've mentioned the country twice, we know that S.H.I.E.L.D. has visited there, so, what's stopping you from giving up Black Panther? Is it that Storm is own by 20th Century Fox? Not every movie needs a love interest, you know! Black Panther is such a pivotal member of the Avengers that if there is ever truly be an Avengers movie (Iron Man, Captain America, the Vision, Thor, Ant-Man, Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Nick Fury, Black Panther), you've gotta add in our prince to it.
Moon Knight
Out of all the superheroes on this list, especially the ones you've never heard of, I'm willing to bet this guy you have never, ever heard of. And, you would be wrong not to have heard of him. Because he, in all honesty, is Marvel's answer to Batman. Yeah. Not Iron Man. Moon Knight. Why?
Because he was raised by a Japanese spirit, not only raised but also gained that power, to fight crime in a city plagued by crime and anger--New York City. Hmm, that setting sounds familiar, doesn't it? Well, it should, because Hell's Kitchen is the same place that Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist will be working out of to form the Defenders! Adding Marc Spector, aka Moon Knight, to the fold would be a wonderful addition. Moon Knight might make a better television series than movie, but, it would be a fantastic movie if done right. His villains might not be at the top tier, but, put him in the MCU and in New York City and you've got a plethora to choose from. Maybe he could be the first step into a Defenders movie, how cool would that be? Moon Knight's backstory is cool, his powers are awesome, he freaking looks awesome, and I just think he would have the most interesting movie out of almost any of the aforementioned characters.
So that's my list of characters I think Marvel Studios should make movies out of. We've got promise of two more, in the form of Cap 3 and Avengers 3. I'd also like to see a Thor 3, for Ragnarock, and Guardians of the Galaxy 2, maybe for Adam Warlock or some other space-being. I've heard rumor for Iron Man 4, but, to be honest, we would get little wiggle room for new characters like Moon Knight or Captain Mar-Vell. So far, the only new Avenger we've got confirmed for a solo film is Ant-Man, and while that movie is going to be very important for the future of the Avengers series, I think we need a little more than that to really get it right, to get it almost perfect. Why almost perfect?
Because I still don't have M.O.D.O.K.
