Power Rangers: Wild Force Review

Ah, Power Rangers. You silly little franchise you. I've been wanting to do a good review and discussion on the latest series, "Dino Charge," but it's once again on break until late summer. So, why not fill the gap with another series? I've been meaning to check "Wild Force" out for a while now. When I was a kid, this show was my jam. Sure, "Time Force" will always be my favorite, but I had all the stuff for "Wild Force." All the action figures. All the Megazord figures. I even had the Lion Blaster. I pretty much was a Ranger (and I still am darn it). So I was a little worried that, so many years later, a cherished part of my childhood wouldn't hold up. Did it?

The Walking Dead "The Last Day on Earth" Review

*major spoilers for The Walking Dead and this episode follow*

I've never really talked about The Walking Dead on this blog before outside of mentioning the show in my "Top 10 TV Shows" list. It's still there, trust me, but it hasn't left as large an impact on me as it did when I initially posted the list. Usually I'm busy doing either homework or other things right after The Walking Dead airs, or I just don't catch it when it does air, and can't give immediate thoughts. This episode? This episode needs my thoughts. In short: I really liked most of it. The Carol and Morgan bits were boring, but the drive to the Hilltop was insane and Negan is the best thing that's happened to The Walking Dead since the big prison battle in Season 4's "Too Far Gone" mid-season finale.

Halloween Story teaser/excerpt/opening/stuff

So every year I at least try to write a story that deals with Halloween, be it characters or themes, as well as Christmas. Well after several years of running out of time, I finally finished one last year on time! This year, the process is running a lot smoother, and even though I'm not halfway done yet, I feel pretty good about where I am and that I'll finish it by next Friday (spooky spooky ghost puppet make-up day). With that said, I figured I'd drop the first few pages of the story for this year here, because I have a blog and can do that now. Hooray for opportunity. If you're interested in reading the story, leave a comment (or if you know me...tell me or something) and I can figure out somehow to get it to you. If not, then, enjoy this little excerpt anyway! Also don't forget to follow me on Twitter (@seanovan13) and Instagram (@seanovan10) for updates on when I upload!

The Devil's Laugh--A Short Story

“Then it’s settled,” Sheriff Cole announced. “Tomorrow at dawn this man is to be hanged for murder of his brother and the rape of his sister.”
Mitch didn’t even bother to look the sheriff in the eye at this point. The trial was—what—two hours long and full of lies. The only time Mitch had ever raised a hand to his brother was when they were children, but now that they were full-grown adults, the thought had never crossed Mitch’s mind. And to violate his sister-in-law was absurd. It was despicable.
