Justice League of America #69 Review

Previously: A monster found its way out of a secret lair from the 90s and decided that it wanted to punch things and squeeze birds. We call him Doomsday, but he's really just a misunderstood teenager. The Justice League was dispatched to check out a highway crash in Ohio, while Superman did something about people in Metropolis. Weird.

How to Play/ Get Into: the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game

When it comes to hobbies/ things I've been playing since I was a wee lad, few top Yu-Gi-Oh!. I mean sure I quit the game for a while, but, we were all trying to "find our real identities" in middle school, weren't we?

Plus GX was getting a bit lame for me, I needed to take a break from "throw down a facedown" and "get your game on" for a bit.

I returned following the big boom that was Trishula getting banned/ the end of the Plant-Synchro era, but I got into the game just in time for the Wind-Up/ Inzektor format, the Dino Rabbit format (which wasn't that bad, I found), and of course, who could forget the classic Dragon Ruler format? :-)

Is Anime Age Specific?

One of the many misconceptions people trying to ignorantly prove a point will make about this little genre of art is that it's either "those kids shows from Japan" or that "it's those weird shows with fan-service." And hey, guess what? Both are, in their own way, correct!

Much like any medium, anime will tailor to a wide variety of people. Take American cartoons, for example. While a show like Ben 10 or Teen Titans are targeted more toward kids, shows like Batman: The Animated Series and the "Avatar" shows can be viewed by both adults and children.

Blue Nexus: Solar Survivors - Preview

Eight months ago, seventeen year-old Kyle Raiden joined and elite group of intergalactic warriors harnessing the energy source known as the Nexus. This energy source has been a driving force behind the powers of the universe as well as the spark for many of its greatest wars. It has also, though, turned out some of the universe's finest soldiers, including Kyle's mentor in the ways of the Nexus, an Earthling Roman legend known as Aequitas.

Moving Forward in the Marvel Movie Universe

Spoilers for Avengers: Age of Ultron, so go watch that like now...then come back!

Marvel Studio's movie universe is about to get a whole lot bigger...but not really hinted at in their latest film, in a strange way.

The movie I thought would be groundbreaking for the MCU wasn't as gigantic as I thought. Sure, events have been put into motion that will eventually pay off, but there wasn't the giant Captain America and Iron Man breakup I, and many others probably, were expecting that would segue us into "Civil War" coming next March.

The Flash "Grodd Lives" Review

FULL EPISODE SPOILERS FOLLOW

Well this was a very disappointing episode. You'd think on the final stretch of the show they'd try to hit everything home, but, what happened tonight was a really boring, unexciting episode featuring a really annoying side-character, a villain that was cool to see but didn't really do anything, and a severe lack of humor. Like, really no humor at all.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" Review (Spoiler-Free)

I think I'll keep this quick because there is a lot I want to talk about but much of it is a spoiler, so, expect some pretty brief thoughts.

Okay, great, so, how's the movie? It's really good. It's a great sequel to its predecessor and you can really tell that in terms of writing and cinematography that this movie was a step-up from where it needed to be. I think that much of the enjoyment people are going to get from this film also depends on how much they've been following it. If you read all the interviews, watch all the clips, and analyze every frame of the movie, then yeah, you're obviously going to be disappointed because you were criticizing things that hadn't yet happened (don't worry, I'm aware that I did this, too, I'm a hypocrite for saying this but at least I acknowledged it).
