Blue Nexus #24--The Shadow Man

Kyle stirred in the hospital room, putting his hand atop his head as his fuzzy vision straightened out and he was able to see clearly. He groaned, then with his free arm pushed himself up, groaning again from the strain. Well, it wasn’t as strenuous as it’d been when he had to get up earlier. His strength was returning. He looked to the Nexus bracelet, which was glowing just as bright as normal. Good, things were finally on the up and up.

Marvel NOW! Moon Knight Review

Following it's big Secret Wars event going on that has effectively destroyed all things Marvel and is going to throw it right back at us, Marvel is going to put out dozens of brand new titles and #1s, even if the book was only on its fifth issue (i.e. Spider-Gwen, All-New Hawkeye, Howard the Duck).

To do this, it cancelled everything. And as is usual, not all things get to come back, even if they were good and popular. I can't tell you why Moon Knight isn't getting his own series again, but I've done enough moping to various people about this so I've just learned to suck it up and rejoice that Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino are working on a book together again (Old Man Logan).

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (Film) Review

Let's discuss a scenario here. You've got material from a Visual Novel that requires hours of gameplay. These characters are extremely popular, so you want to give them all their fair share of screen time. Not only that, but they are all incredibly complex. The situation they find themselves in? Even more complex.

They have to explain the Holy Grail War, why these people have been chosen, who their Servants are, why there even are Servants, establish allegiances, create a believable romance, have characters go through development, and stage the big, ultimate battle.

In eighty-ninety minutes.

Can the Fantastic Four Come Back?

This year has seen Marvel's First Family get absolutely decimated. Their main title came to and end in "The End is Four-Ever," and their Ultimate universe counterpart came to a close as well (possibly last year or earlier, I don't keep track of the Ultimate universe to be honest). Then, of course, there was that bore-fest that has garnered a solid 9% on Rotten Tomatoes in Fan4stic.

*sigh*

Are they done for good?

Blue Nexus #23: Something Wicked...Is Already Here?

Kyle stopped dead in his tracks, sweat beading down his face like a waterfall. His eyes flicked around the city, his sense for power scattering everywhere. The lights sparkled at him as if trying to hide his vision. The wind in the sky he floated in seemed to be trying to knock him down.
He winced as he moved his arm. No, God, no! In his Nexus form, Kyle knew, he couldn’t feel much pain. There was so much adrenaline and energy flowing through him that he wasn’t able to fully comprehend pain. Now, though, he knew. His arm was broken, and he knew his vision was going to go soon, too.

Has Dragon Ball gone too far?

Spoilers for Dragon Ball Z and Battle of Gods

Dragon Ball is a series that has taken the world by storm, most notably with the back-half of its main series in Dragon Ball Z, one of my favorite shows of all time and one of the most talked-about and influential anime series for many Western viewers. It's spawned hundreds of anime episodes, over twenty movies, and now, two major theatrical releases for, again, Western audiences. It's a series that proves how capable it is time and time again over in the United States and is one not to be forgotten.

But it's time for it to end. Now, it's getting to be a bit much, and it's making me wonder why this series above all others is getting these huge movie releases compared to others. The reason I come up with is not one I particularly enjoy, either.
