Arrow "Nanda Parbat" Review
FULL EPISODE SPOILERS
Sheesh, as if they weren't pulling from Batman lore before...
Now it's so obvious it kinda hurts me.
This week's episode of the CW's Arrow was another League-centric one, which meant one thing: MORE NYSSA! *throws confetti* While she wasn't in more action scenes, she did serve a pretty interesting piece in her scenes with Laurel and Thea, and was also one of the two major cliffhangers of the episode, the other coming off a little more forced than before.

Arrow "The Return" Review
FULL EPISODE SPOILERS
Would you believe me if I told you Thea was officially hardcore? Probably not back in Seasons 1 or 2. Maybe 3.
This episode kinda solidifies that, though. This was as much her episode as it was Oliver's, where Thea seemed to dominate in the present and Oliver in the flashbacks. Both worked very well and had great dramatic moments.
Executive Producer Marc Gunggheim said that this episode would serve as something of a love letter to the fans, and I couldn't agree more. There were so many touche throughout the episode that hearkened back to moments or characterizations from Season 1 ("I had the hood up to conceal my eyes!" "That wouldn't even work even if you put grease over your face!"/ Lance's drinking or Thea's drug problems/ Slade Wilson's "promise"/ the notebook of names).
Avengers: Heroes Welcome #1
Today's comic is short but compacts a lot stupid things in it. It also screws with continuity in the way that comics like to do. Because continuity is for chumps, apparently.
I really am not sure what to take from this comic. It starts off just so bad and works its way to mediocrity. I don't get why it was written and I think there could have been many other characters to convey the message they were trying to get across.

The Flash "Fallout" Review
FULL EPISODE SPOILERS
Okay, so, this episode wasn't as time-travel heavy as I'd have expected, but, all of the material in the episode was still pretty cool. It seems like this is the first true "arc" the series has taken, given the heavy focus on Firestorm we've had. In that way, this is a pretty good episode.
It seems like this episode also went back to the roots of the show by having pretty good humor mixed in with an interesting story and, of course, a great cliffhanger. There were tons of references to not only past episodes but also other shows that actually worked well. Most of the time they feel rather forced but this time they flowed with the dialogue.
Dragon Ball: Raging Blast Review
I would review "Budokai 3," but I kinda don't want to. I'm not as comfortable with that game as I am with "Raging Blast." I would also review "Battle of Z" but I'm not at all comfortable with that game. It was released last year, and I only just now beat the main campaign, not at all defeating the various side quests. But, hey, I've all but maxed out my Super Saiyan Trunks (Sword) character, so that's a thing. His combos are killer.

Romance is hit or miss
No, I am not talking about real life romance (although, I guess that is as well?). My blog is not about real life, duh, it's about the important things.
Yeah that was sarcastic happy Valentine's Day!
In stories of all kinds, be it books, TV shows, movies, videogames, there elements that we nearly expect to see all the time because they are staples. Some form of drama, some form of victory, and some form of romance. Personally, the thing I hate most of out those three is romance. Why? Because it can either be very effective or it can be just stupid and unecessary. Sure, one could make the argument that drama can be stupid, but hey, at least it's still dramatic. Romance can just be downright...bleck.

Arrow "Canaries" Review
FULL EPISODE SPOILERS
Man, this episode pulled no punches with it's delivery, huh? First Oliver calls Laurel not a hero, then Roy and Felicity give it straight to Oliver, then Laurel tells Lance about Sara. Sheesh. Guess they really wanted to overwhelm us following last week's underwhelming episode.
As it is, this was a pretty good episode. Yeah, the title implies that it's all about Laurel, but I thought that the equally interesting parts were about Thea. Oh yeah, that's a thing. But we'll cover that.

The Flash "The Nuclear Man" Review
FULL EPISODE SPOILERS
I'm not feeling too hot tonight (-1 for bad pun), so I'm gonna keep this review pretty short so I can sleep/ eat/ hopefully not puke my brains out. As they say, the review must go on!
So if half of this makes no sense, I apologize in advance. Sound off in the comments where I messed up to help fellow readers. That's what friends are for, right?
To get into the episode itself, I thought it was a great one. There were little things I had flaws with, and those little things were also named Iris West. But we'll get to that.
Spider-Man in Marvel Movies: Cool! But...
I'm sure you've heard/ seen by now that Spider-Man is going to finally get to be a part of the main Marvel Studios films, such as "The Avengers" movies and all that. If you haven't: surprise! Spider-Man's probably gonna be in Avengers 3. It's obviously too late for "Age of Ultron" but I wouldn't count out "Civil War" just yet. But, I'll get into why "Civil War" is unlikely in a moment.
This has been a rumor for a long time now, so, it's good to see this little back and forth come to an end. Spider-Man's in the Avengers! Great, everyone pee your pants and pay your money.
However.

Arrow "Uprising" Review
FULL EPISODE SPOILERS AHEAD
So if Season 1 of the CW's Arrow was meant to be Batman Begins, and arguably Season 2 had themes of The Dark Knight with Oliver contemplating how to deal with Slade without compromising "the one rule." then this little season we've got going on thus far is definitely The Dark Knight Rises. I mean, they're not really masking that fact, either:
Death by League of Assassins. Fall down a long hole. "Reborn" through methods that make little sense. Ra's al Ghul. And returning to a city that has fallen to its knees and coming back just in time to fight a brute of a man who has a funny accent.
AND a sidekick!

The Flash "Crazy for You" Review
FULL EPISODE SPOILERS
We needed an "eh" episode of the CW's The Flash one of these days, right? It reminds me a lot of some of the "eh" episodes of Arrow's first season, with episodes like "Dodger" coming to mind. The villain is alright and is a pretty decent test for our hero, but, in the end, there could have been a much better one to replace them.
"Arpeggio of Blue Steel" Discussion
Due to serious time constraints, a heavy workload from school, and a few new projects I need to get to working on (as well as planning some reviews/ discussions for the coming months), I'm unable to get out a full review of a show that I truly like, Arpeggio of Blue Steel.
It's an anime series from the Fall 2013 season that features Captain Gunzo as he and his ragtag group of maybe teenagers take on the Fog, an army of powerful artificial intelligence in several naval battles to win back some breathing room for the small, almost powerless forces of humanity.

Favorite Couple(s) in Fiction
Well, seeing as how February is more or less marked as the month of love, I figured I would partake in this horrendously Hallmark-ed holiday month by covering some love-ly topics this month, such as today's topic, a ship's program falling in love with a human, and a post I wrote almost a year ago that I'll re-post. Shameless laziness.
And that's pretty much it. If you're like me, February is only the month of love because, you know, it's a nice gimmick. Normally I wouldn't celebrate it, but, for my readers...I'll do three posts about it then pretend it never happened.
