Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice Review

I'm not exactly sure how to begin this review. This film takes a while to mull over, and I don't think that a second viewing of it would help me out in that regard, anyway. No spoilers here, I won't be that mean if you do want to see the movie. And, yes, believe it or not there are spoilers even after that second trailer that showed us Doomsday. And if you haven't seen that trailer?

Whoops.

Previously on "Blue Nexus" (#14-#39)...

It's been well over a year since I was able to recap the series. I probably could have done so after our long summer break between parts 22 and 23, but that would be no fun. And, yes, there was a major tone shift and change in direction, but even stretching way back to Part 14 where Sandy revealed she knew who Kyle was and that the Zanderia did have a prison for super villains there were small seeds being planted that would lead up to the big battle against Alucard.

Superman #75 Review

Previously: Doomsday, a teenager kept in timeout for too long, attempted to become Snow White and sing to various animals....but crushed them instead. After destroying a truck, the Justice League (clearly with nothing better to do) attacked him while Superman did a day-time interview. Supes and Doomsday started fighting in a suburban front lawn, but Doomsday would soon decide that he wanted to become a WWE superstar. Knowing that this teenage rebellion has gone on long enough, Superman confronts Doomsday one final time in Metropolis, singing Toto's "Hold the Line" as he does so.

Fairy Tail Chat #2

It's once again that time to talk about that odd little Shounen-battle series, Fairy Tail. Not much to review--nothing that I want to right now anyway--since the dub is in filler for now and the regular series is just going through the motions with "Zero." I'll of course touch on both, but what I really want to focus on is the manga because good Lord...the manga right now!

Can "Daredevil" Season Two Be Better?

Spoilers for Season 1!!

It was clear right out the gate that Netflix's Marvel Daredevil series would get a second season. The first season was pretty fantastic, showing us a gritty part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) that wasn't overtly dark or edgy to take away from the series. It showed how the fallout from the Chtauri attack on New York was giving rise to brand new evils that could, one day, supplant the city with that evil, and how one man could foil all those plans.

Blue Nexus #39 - Fallout

Kyle floated backwards to move out of the way while Brenda lowered her sphere of barrier magic down around the rubble. Kyle, still watching the rubble, gave her a thumbs up. Brian, at the bottom in his Nexus form, did the same. Kyle pulled back both arms. Brenda backed up on the ground, advising the deconstruction crews to do the same. The barrier began to rise, and Brian lit it up with energy, filling the area with smoke. When Kyle saw the barrier dissipate fully he joined in as well, then formed a small lance and cast it through a larger piece of rubble, splitting it right in two.
“All clear!” Brian shouted, leaping back.

Original Sin: Hulk vs. Iron Man Review

Super heroes fighting each other, in modern day comics, is no big news. Most events are focused, poorly, around such an idea. This, though, is one of the exceptions to that stereotype, and I'm okay with it here. While there is no mind control or manipulation going on, the circumstances building to the titular confrontation are unique, and work for the story.
