2016
was an absolutely magical year for comics. Even if you were a Marvel fan for
the back half of the year or a DC fan for the first half of the year, on the
whole 2016 proved to be one hell of a year in terms of revitalizing both DC and
Marvel for some of their stranger characters or concepts. Valiant and Image
continued to see creative success, last year in particular for Valiant
with Ninjak and the two “Divinity” series. So, now that the year is
halfway done, how is 2017 holding up? In short: pretty damn well.

2017: Another Dud Year in Franchise Movies?
The new year is here, and that means we're about to get a heck of a lot of new movie trailers headed our way. And not just for the summer! Thanks to Deadpool, we'll be seeing big-blockbuster releases pretty early in the year. March alone has three movies that might be worth checking out. That's pretty awesome! And I can't wait...well, if it weren't for 2016, and it how it wasn't the kindest year to big franchise movies

2016 Most Anticipated Movies
Oh boy, 2016. The year of sequels, hopes, dreams, and heroes fighting each other. But, hey, what else is new, am I right? This'll also be the year that the cinema takes all my money, because there are seven movies that I definitely will see, and a couple here and there that are on my radar that I'm considering. They might be my "Redbox movies" of the year. But, overall, it's a pretty hype year.

Favorite 2015 Movie (Of What I've Seen)
I feel it's important to note I'm only saying what the best movie I saw this year was based on the films I did manage to go out and see, or just sit around at home and wait to be released. Much to my surprise, I saw quite a few more films than anticipated and for the most part liked each one that I was able to view.
2015 was a very hyped up year for film, particularly film sequels, and I have to say that it didn't disappoint. Every sequel that was released was good, and maybe even better than its immediate predecessor in some cases. Sadly, though, this does make way for fewer original ideas, which is a dying art in Hollywood and is one I would personally like to see come back.
Luckily, I was able to see more movies this year than last year--hence why I had to do a Top 10 list of various trailers from the year. I didn't see many trailers this year, and I've really only been able to give my thoughts on two of the movies I saw this year, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F', so I figured doing a discussion would be fun!

Frozen Sequel!...Books?
Oh you, mean a movie?
That's a possibility. But you're getting books based on the movies, four of them!
Oh, no, there might be a movie. Disney doesn't know. There's also no Frozen theme park yet, so why are you complaining so much about a lack of a movie?

Strongest Disney Characters
You would think that most of the villains on this list would be villains. In fact, only two of them are. It seems that Disney villains are so OP (over-powered) all of the time, but really, it's just that an odd circumstance worked in their favor. The evil Step-Mother is nothing is Cinderella's father never died. The Evil Queen wouldn't know a thing about Snow White if not for the Mirror.
Plus, I'm not talking about strength of character, or strength of story arc. I mean power, like if you can build a giant castle or break a planet in half. I know Disney would never break a planet in half, but, I also never through they would make a princess movie where a prince is not the plot line. Funny how that works.

Disney's next best move
While I'm sure that Disney is already planning their next major hit after the remarkable success of Frozen, it's always fun to throw in my two cents about what they should do next. And by that I mean what I would like to see.
Before Frozen, Disney's standout movie was Tangled. Or, okay, Toy Story 3, but as far as adventure-princess stories go, Tangled was the cream of the crop. When Frozen came along, it blew everyone away because it was never advertised as a princess movie nor was it advertised, really, as a musical. Luckily, it was the best of both.

Disney's "Frozen" and how it's like going to college
I know it's a little bizarre to see me not posting about dark things like dark fantasy or best friends fighting. I figured I would shake things up with one of the best things 2013 gave all of us (along with, you know, the announcement of a Batman vs Superman movie): Disney's Frozen! And of course, there are SPOILERS for the movie if you've not seen it yet (why haven't you?), but much less than usual! I'm learning control, guys, I promise.
